If you believe in something that cannot be proven, thus far, it could become an expensive hobby for those who think it needs proving. In fact, one man that could probably be seen as the founder of wealth for others was Charles Darwin. The faith in Evolution has been the origin of many a company and many a project, and without it the manufacturers of scientific equipment may only have had half the wealth they have today. So they need to fore ever thank uncle Charles for their good fortunes and their high profits. He has truly floated stock markets on an idea, a theory.

How much do you think has been spent to try and prove evolution? Since the Darwinian model has been proposed I shudder to think how large that figure would be. Maybe enough, not just to bail Greece out of its crisis, but to actually bail the whole world out of it’s economic crises. The cost of creating university laboratories and funding evolutionary research projects over the past 150 years must be absolutely astronomical.

And seeing that I have used the word ‘astronomical’ I may as well continue to focus on the issue. The new SKA project (Square Kilometer Array), which is proposed to enable us to find out more about the evolution of the Universe, will cost a fair amount. Then there was of course Hubble, and there is also the E-ELT (European Extremely Large Telescope) project to come, which will try and find the earliest stages of the formation of planetary systems and hopefully the potential of water and life somewhere out there.

In Europe we have the accelerator that is trying to find the ‘God Particle’ and I don’t even have a clue how much that cost to build and how much it is costing to staff and run every year. Why on earth they call it the ‘God Particle’ heaven only knows. It’s the most oxymoronic statement ever made by a bunch of evolutionary scientists, and they call it science.

Then on the other hand, Richard Dawkins and his supporters would retaliate with the proposed value of what the Church has spent on religion, in relation to what has been spent on evolution. And yes, I guess the church has outspent the Darwin theory many times over. But has it been spent to prove God? And there I have to differ. It has been spent to worship the Creator God rather than too prove Him. So does faith in a Creator got a price tag?

For many who have given up a lavish lifestyle and possibly a profitable trade in things like drugs, for the sake of Jesus, it may be said that faith has a price tag. But does it really?

I would like to believe that the money spent on what the church would like to call ‘expanding God’s Kingdom’ has been spent for a different purpose than to try and prove God. That does not say that the church has not gathered wealth and misspent the investment that its members has made in it. All you have to do is ask Martin Luther that question in relation to the Vatican and he would probably have shared his opinion with you, as would some today. Then there’s the Charismatic movement with it’s fringe tele-evangelists that con millions out of their hard earned cash in various ways. So none are squeaky clean. And for them I have a message. The judge of the Universe will judge the secrets of their hearts.

And for the evolutionists I have a message as well. Build your telescopes and do your research because that will make the event even more spectacular for us to observe. Which event? ‘For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voce of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever. 1 Cor.4:16-18.

Thats what the facebook message said. It was from a neighbor whom I used to live next door to. We enjoy occasionally ‘visiting’ via facebook. I had noticed that he was going for a job interview a few weeks ago, and now this short message that simply said ‘omg I got the job’.

So many people use that abbreviation in texting and on social media and most of us would translate it to mean Oh my God. The question is: Is it Oh my God or is it simply oh my god. In the mind of a sincere Christian the capital G would make the difference. If it is intended to be a capital G then many would recoil with discomfort and even agony at the blaze use of the name of God. We would hear mutterings about using the Name of thy God in vain.

So, who is my god or my God? My question to you, when you use this expression or when you type omg is exactly that. Who is this god you are referring to?

If we claim to worship the Creator God, what the Bible calls the God of heaven and earth, or who created the heavens and the earth, then I guess we are talking about the God of the Bible. In the Christian’s mind that would be God with a capital G. If we would happily miss going to church to worship this God week after week, year in and year out, but would not ever miss our favorite reality TV show, then it may be, and probably is, god with a small g. And if you then say omg then I guess it’s not such a big deal, after all; it would sound weird to say Oh my TV, Oh my Car or even Oh my Appearance or something like that. People would call that vanity, but call it your god and that’s ok.

On the other hand, if it is omg like in omG, then I have to ask you: who is this God of yours that you so readily refer to as an exclamation in your conversation? You must be very close to this God to continually make such a reference in your texting and talking. If you are not close to this God and are simply saying it because it sounds cool and ‘with it’ you may just be guilty of contravening the heavenly code and thus being in danger of losing your honor of being an ambassador for Him – disgraced like a modern day politician.

So hey, I have just one question. Who is my God or god? Who is your god or God?
